White Bolognese Sauce

A delightful twist on traditional Bolognese sauce using turkey bacon and chicken ham.

Ingredients

  • 4 strips turkey bacon
  • 1 cup chicken ham, diced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Cook turkey bacon in a pan over medium heat until crispy, then remove and chop.
  2. In the same pan, add olive oil, onion, and garlic. Sauté until onions are translucent.
  3. Add chicken ham and cook for another 5 minutes.
  4. Stir in crushed tomatoes and let simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. Lower the heat and add heavy cream, stirring until well combined.
  6. Season with salt, black pepper, basil, and red pepper flakes.
  7. Mix in the chopped turkey bacon and heat through.
  8. Serve over pasta or as desired.

Notes

  • This sauce can be made ahead of time and refrigerated.
  • Feel free to add vegetables like spinach for extra nutrition.
