Spinach and Ricotta Stuffed Shells Recipe

A delightful blend of spinach and ricotta cheese stuffed into large pasta shells, baked in marinara sauce, and topped with mozzarella for a comforting meal.

Ingredients

  • 12 jumbo pasta shells
  • 2 cups fresh spinach, chopped
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the pasta shells according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine spinach, ricotta, Parmesan, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Stuff each pasta shell with the cheese mixture.
  5. Spread half of the marinara sauce in the bottom of a baking dish.
  6. Place the stuffed shells in the dish and top with the remaining marinara sauce and shredded mozzarella.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes or until cheese is bubbly.

Notes

  • This dish pairs well with a side salad.
  • Can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator before baking.
