  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup espresso, cooled
  • 1/2 cup salted caramel sauce
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour cake pans.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream together sugar and butter until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla and espresso.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in salted caramel sauce and chocolate chips.
  7. Pour batter into prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Let cool before frosting with salted caramel frosting.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use dark cocoa powder.
  • Make sure to cool the espresso before adding it to the mixture.
