- 1 pound ziti pasta
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 pound Italian sausage
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 28 ounces crushed tomatoes
- 15 ounces ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the ziti pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and Italian sausage, cooking until browned.
- Add the onion and garlic, sautéing until onion is translucent.
- Stir in the crushed tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- In a large bowl, mix the cooked ziti pasta with the meat sauce and ricotta cheese.
- In a greased baking dish, layer half of the ziti mixture, followed by half of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses. Repeat the layers.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
