Ingredients

  • 4 fillets white fish such as cod or haddock
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 cup dill pickle juice
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh dill
  • 4 sandwich buns
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce

Instructions

  1. Prepare the tartar sauce by mixing mayonnaise, dill pickle juice, and chopped dill in a bowl. Set aside.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, salt, pepper, and paprika.
  3. Dip fish fillets first in flour mixture, then in beaten eggs, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.
  4. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry fish until golden and crispy, about 4-5 minutes per side.
  5. Assemble the sandwich by placing a piece of fish on the bottom half of the bun, topping with shredded lettuce and dill pickle tartar sauce, and finally topping with the other half of the bun.

Notes

  • For extra crunch, double-coat the fish with breadcrumbs.
  • Use any white fish of your choice for this recipe.
