Better than Takeout Shrimp Fried Rice

This shrimp fried rice recipe is a delicious and healthier alternative to takeout, featuring a turkey bacon twist that adds amazing flavor!

  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • 1 cup shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 3 slices turkey bacon, diced
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 carrot, diced
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp ginger, minced
  • 1 egg, beaten

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, cook the turkey bacon over medium heat until crispy.
  2. Add the shrimp and cook until they turn pink.
  3. Stir in the garlic, bell pepper, and carrot, and sauté until tender.
  4. Add the cooked rice, soy sauce, sesame oil, and ginger; mix well.
  5. Push the rice mixture to one side of the skillet and pour the beaten egg into the other side, scrambling it until cooked.
  6. Combine everything in the skillet and top with green onions before serving.

Notes

  • For an extra kick, add some sriracha sauce to taste.
  • Feel free to customize the vegetables based on your preferences.
