Baked Sage Chicken Meatballs with Parmesan Orzo

Deliciously flavored Baked Sage Chicken Meatballs served over creamy Parmesan Orzo for a quick and satisfying dinner.

  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh sage, chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup additional Parmesan cheese for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, sage, egg, garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Form the mixture into meatballs and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until cooked through.
  5. Meanwhile, in a saucepan, bring chicken broth to a boil and add orzo. Cook according to package instructions.
  6. Stir in heavy cream towards the end of cooking the orzo.
  7. Serve the meatballs over orzo and sprinkle with additional Parmesan cheese.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, try adding minced onions or other herbs to the meatball mix.
  • These meatballs can be made ahead of time and frozen.
